Hey there. Somehow you found my video and decided to watch it. So let me introduce myself. I'm Sergei and I'm from Russia. My channel is about my native country. I want to tell English-speaking viewers about the real Russia, about its past and present. Unfortunately, you can find a lot of propaganda about Russia on the Internet, both from the Russian media and from the Western ones. I want to tell you about Russia, as it really is, the country in which I was born, grew up, and lived all my life.

    The Maybe Tomorrow entry was honestly crazy. It's like there's no way he could've known such a thing would happen, and at the time there was no reason to think that it would. The Soviets and the German at that time had relatively good relations and Hitler was yet to even come to power, the creation of such a film is frankly just bizarre. Also the title of the film in your footage being 'Можливо завтра' kinda caught me off guard. I'm able to speak Ukrainian, but not Russian, so it was a bit weird being able to understand the Cyrillic and I honestly thought I was seeing things for a moment.

    During the height of the Satanic Panic which was during the 1980s and 1990s there were rumors of Satanists handing out candy even apples that had razor blades in them. They would hand them out to kids during Halloween but it’s just an urban legend.

    The Holodomor was likely targeted specifically at the Cossacks, who were politically and militarily dangerous, it extended out of Ukraine into the Kuban and was most intense in Cossack areas. The Cossacks caused immense difficulties for the regime during the civil war, and proved resistant to the usual methods due to their ability to mobilise faster than they could be massacred. The American media was complicit in cover ups, and wall street financed the Bolsheviks, with the Soviet Union greatly being helped by mass investment. However when the Americans heard of famine they offered food relief, they were not responsible for the cold bloodedness of the Soviet leadership, even if they indirectly facilitated it.

    The story of Afghan rat is very similar to Polish version of sheep-dog puppies, that when growing up it turns out they're bears, which eat their owners. Of course in Poland it's the Romani, who allegedly sell such "sheep-dogs".

    • @vorynrosethorn903
      @vorynrosethorn903 2 дні тому

      Wouldn't put it past them, though I imagine that the original versions of this type of story had a different group selling, one that Poland suddenly stopped having in large numbers around 80 years ago.

  • @vorynrosethorn903

    Quiet flows the Don is surprisingly sympathetic towards the Cossacks, especially given they attitude towards them of the authorities, that said the author was politically connected, however the level of detail and empathy is very good given that the author fought in the red army throughout the civil war, as a child on top of that. Some elements are fictionalized, the depiction of the Tsar notably. However by and large it is very evenhanded. There is a strong likelihood that the work received considerable inspiration, but if it was a diary is unknown, more likely it was the stories of fellow soldiers during the civil war, their recollections of events, of survival and reminiscences of home. All of these intersect, the author was in a famous cavalry unit personally connected to Stalin, thus the achievements of of the unit (in actual fact a division) and it's members reflected personally on Stalin, and considerable effort was taken in insuring that the image of this unit was always glorified, on top of this it's members found themselves exceptions to Stalin's wrath, with him always remaining generous to his old comrades. It is likely that the author had a good deal of freedom due to the personal fondness of Stalin, he also likely fought with Cossack veterans of mixed backgrounds and was exposed to plentiful material for his imagination. He probably didn't need a diary, the protagonist of the story is not of the Cossack gentry, though he interacts with them he himself is an officer up from the ranks. The view is very accurate to time, most of the licence was probably in the romance and character drama. While some of it is obviously sanitised it is generally not in the direction of political correctness.

    My understanding is that much of the Church hierarchy was indeed connected to intelligence services (throughout the Warsaw pact, and also in Yugoslavia), at least those of that generation, and that this is also the case in many other denominations. The Patriarch of Constantinople has made his connections with American intelligence and political elites fairly blatant, and predecessors even talked openly about it. The Russian Orthodox Church outside of Russia seems to be fairly impartial, but many western Churches have internal power struggles with outside backing. In the West this is typically NGO funding and media backing of priests with an interpretive view on theology and doctrine. The Catholic war with freemasons has been very real even if it sounds like something out of a novel. Evangelicals depending on their exact theology often have rather close ties to Israeli organisations. Of course stupid people and bad priests are rather more the norm, but it is not uncommon for such people to be incentivised or given shortcuts to power by those with motives who have entrenched themselves in Church structure. The Church of England for example is currently flooding itself with women's priest's (who are naturally theologically unconventional due to the one's who aren't recognising the biblical block on female clergy as something to perhaps not transgress). I could go on for a long time, there is a lot of this stuff. To put in simply the Church has a problem with people who's faith is some form of liberal ideology entering the Church to transform it according to the image of said ideology, and idol if you will (most of these ideologies have utopian tendencies). In short they aren't Christian, calling their displayed religion pagan might be a bit hard on the pagans, who to be frank are less contrary in their morality than the sons of Rousseau. In the modern Russian Church it seems like there has been a revival of the old monarchist strain of thought, and some really quite strident figures, interestingly they are associated with the Cossack revivalists and all sorts of other White movement or Russian nationalist groups. Such groups are undoubtedly being watched, though they fall over themselves to support the state that is because they want tangible concessions, their aim is regime change and depending on circumstances their means might adjust accordingly.

    What can I say, as a communist I believe that the Soviet Famine of 1932-33 really happened. You can deny it, people died. That is for sure the reason though, is not what western libs and Ukrainian bots want us to believe. It happened because a bunch of kulaks, aka the wealthy farmers all over the southern USSR, particularly in Ukraine, although in southern Russia too, but it was most pronounced in Ukraine, did not want to give in their land, crops and workers to the kolkhoz and sovkhoz. They wanted to stay wealthy while their workers suffer and get only grains of what they have produced and only very little money, living in terrible conditions while the kulaks lived relatively well. They didn't want to give in and rather than doing so, burned crops, killed livestock and that is what caused the famine, not Papa Stalin who ate all the grain with a comically large spoon. And guess what, who helped to resolve the famine and gave food aid to who needed it. Stalin. Hell, if he wouldn't have sent the aid, the famine would have continued for years and would have taken the lives of many more good soviet working people. And who closed all the dirty kulaks into corrective labour camps? Also Stalin and I am glad he did. Even with these valiant efforts of the Soviet government, the kulak-orchestrated famine still claimed lives, around 4,5 to 5 million and left a mark on Soviet agriculture, that it would not recover from till the Great Patriotic War and hindered the USSR's performance in it in the begining, although later it war resolved and everything got better after the war, nevertheless it still was a huge blow to the Soviet agriculture. So yeah, it was not Daddy Stalin, it was those dirty kulaks. Honestly, fuck the kulaks. May all rot in Labour Camps in Siberia. As for my opinion on the theory Mr Setarko has just described here, is not that stupid ss it may seem and is not that far-fetched or disconnected from reality as it may seem and there be truth to it, though the theory i have presented is I think a much better argument against the sTaLiN aTe aLl ThE gRaIN bY hIMsElF bullshit but if i think about it better my theory doesn't rule out Setarko's one so both may be true. What's not true is that the Soviet authorities deliberately starved out the Ukrainians cause Stalin held a personal grudge against them or something. That's a complete brainrot of an idea.

    I'm in Israel. We never had a lot of drinking here until the Russians came. I met a woman in my Hebrew class who is from Ukraine. The other day we had an end of the year party. Everyone brought snacks. No alcohol. She told me that when Russian speakers have a party they don't care about the food, only the drinks. When other Israelis have a party there is a lot of food, not much alcohol. For most Israelis, drinking isn't a big deal. I think that is due to Jewish culture.
